Long time, no write...

So it's been a long time since I've updated and now that Evie has passed year 1, it feels like she is becoming more and more of a little person every day.  I want to record some of her cute emerging personality so we can look back and remember this time.

First of all, I have loved almost all of Evie's stages so far.  Each had it's rough spots and it's joys, but from about 11 to 13 months was mostly just tough!  She began throwing tantrums and was unusually whiny and stubborn.  She also started getting molars which didn't help her mood at all.  She refused to walk until 14 months which felt like forever.  Luckily, we pushed through and now she is back to being sweet and easy.  Tantrums have all but ceased for the present, and she is generally happy and fun.  Also, Evie is becoming such a little person, she hardly feels like a baby at all anymore. At 17.5 months, here are some things that make Evie who she is:

Her top interests are books, music, and dress-up.  She spends most of the day "reading", singing (She now knows 3 songs!), and wearing mom and dad's scarves, ties, jewelry, and hats.

Evie LOVES phones.  Her face lights up whenever she spots a phone and she lunges for it.  She then walks around with the phone to her ear talking gibberish, a hilarious and darling sight.

Evie is ALL girl.  She loves jewelry, anything shiny, snuggles and kisses, and trying to do anything mommy does!  Her hair is getting long and is still curly and medium blond, and she lets me play with it which I love.  She is a lovey, nurturing little bug. She snuggles her dollies and kisses anything she likes a lot. She often "flirts" with daddy and her boyfriends, and carries around a purse with her toys.

She is a crazy climber!  She has conquered the kitchen table as well as all the chairs and other furniture in our house. She has also become super verbal.  She can sign "more", "food", "please", "all done", "bye-bye", and say 15+ words, her newest being "Jesus".

Evie is a major tease, just like her dad. She will pretend to give you something only to pull it away and giggle mischievously.  She laughs when we chase her, jump out at her, or pretend she knocks us down.

Nailed it.
Doing yoga like mommy!
Evie also has her dad's taste in food.  She will eat anything and lots of it, the spicier the better!  Surprisingly, she is a petite little munchkin at around 22 lbs.  She is still pretty tall though, measuring in at 34 in.

I adore being a stay-at-home mom, and Scott is excelling as a banker for Wells Fargo.  We are loving life right now and so happy to be a forever family. Hopefully this year will bring news of a little brother or sister for Evie!  We are about ready to start the whole crazy baby cycle again; hopefully with an easier pregnancy.  Fingers crossed!
